GRE (Graduate Record Examination)

Graduate Record Examination, which measures Verbal, Mathematical and Analytical skills. It is a standardized test, whose score most universities in the US asks for, while inviting applications from prospective students.

How is it conducted?
The GRE examination is conducted entirely on computer, whereas no two sets of paper can be found similar.
It consists of Three Parts – Quantitative, Verbal and Analytical Writing Assessment.
There is an identified Research Section at the end of the test which is not scored.
An unidentified unscored section may be present in any order after Analytical Writing Section. It is not counted as a part of your Score.

Scoring Scale for the GRE –


Though the Scores in GRE isn’t the sole guarantee for admission into a graduate school, but is one of the major factors determining admission into the school.

Who can apply for GRE?
Students who are currently studying for a Bachelor’s Degree or have completed it, as this is a course is for gaining entry to a Master’s course in US.

When to start Preparation for GRE?
It is said, ‘Those who start early have the benefit of time with them’, same applies to GRE Preparation, starting early will give you ample of time to concentrate on your subjects and get a better score.
As per the Guidelines, One can attempt for up to 5 times in a calendar year with a gap of 21 days in between 2 tests.
The score will be valid for up to 5 years after from the date of the test taken.
The Scores are passed to the university you will be applying to officially through ETS.
You can send to 4 colleges for free of cost and subsequently for every extra college you may select will cost you additional $25
